Jarrett Culver is struggling and Tariq Owens gets his first NBA basket this week in the NBA

There are now two former Red Raiders that are playing in the NBA, there was another but he is now playing with the Cleveland Cavaliers’ G-League team. Both of these guys, Jarrett Culver and Tariq Owens, were a part of the Final Four team last season and are now making moves in the NBA.

Jarrett Culver is unfortunately in a bit of a slump. He also plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves, a team that has lost its last 11 games and has not won a game since January 9th (ouch). Culver was playing some good basketball earlier in the season but his play has decreased since January 20th, including his two games this last week.

His minutes have stayed consistent for both the 6 game slump he is on now and the 11 games high that propelled him to be one of the better rookies this season. This slump that he is in needs to end fast as his team really needs his production to help win at least some games before the end of the season unless of course, they are tanking on purpose.

Moving on to Tariq Owens who got his first NBA action and basket yesterday for the Phoenix Suns against the Milwaukee Bucks. Owens logged 7 minutes of game action and scored a bucket off of an offensive rebound. He finished with 2 offensive rebounds on the day as well.
