The former Red Raider has done it. Patrick Mahomes has led the Kansas City Chiefs from down in the depth of a 10 point deficit to a historic Super Bowl victory! This was a great game from both sides but when the Chiefs needed him most, the former Red Raider stepped up on the biggest stage in football and won.

Mahomes had a very shaky start, with some throws missing some of the velocity needed to get the ball to his receivers. This led to a 10 point deficit in the fourth quarter of the game as the first three quarters were very back and forth. Mahomes started his comeback with a 44-yard bomb to Tyreek Hill to set the team up in the red zone.

That drive would finish with a touchdown pass to Travis Kelce and from then on, it was Mahomes’ game. There was another huge touchdown drive before the Chiefs’ defense made a huge stop to give the ball back to the offense. With 1:12 left in the ball game, Damien Williams finished the ball game with a huge touchdown solidifying the win for the Chiefs.

This makes the first quarterback to go to college in Texas, start a Super Bowl, and win the whole darn thing! Congrats Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs on your huge win in Super Bowl LIV!
