This is my first time posting a comment...I hope to do more.

What a difficult decision and an unenviable position Kirby Hocutt (and the University ) were in to have to dismiss our beloved, "golden boy", Kliff Kingsberry! Did you see the goodbye note that he wrote to the University and alumni? It is gracious, sincere, humbling and heartbreaking. KK is a class act! I often hold off on formulating an opinion until I hear all sides. I was alarmed when it was announced that Matt Wells was going to be the new head coach and that the fan base was in an uproar and basically bashing KH’s decision. I myself asked...why was there such a quick decision? And then I read Emory Lyda’s article. I felt SO MUCH better! Thank you Emory...because that was one of the most thorough, insightful and well researched articles that I have read in recent memory. Apparently this was not a quick decision on KH’s part....but rather a well thought out and calculated decision that had been in the works for some time. I am convinced, that it was time to part ways with KK ( it’s ashame that it didn’t work out) and that MW is going to restore TT football to a great program. No one has a crystal ball and there are no guarantees in life....but this just feels right to me (did anyone truly want Mike Leach back...really?). Sure there are question marks, but you have to go with the perceived best fit and what feels right. I was super excited when KK was hired ...but it was not to be. What is different this time is that MW is a proven winning head coach that is able to make more out of less. KH is our AD for a reason....let’s see if he got it right this time!
