Texas Tech is coming off of a win against Oklahoma and now host the 16-7 Horned Frogs. TCU has had quite a turn around under Jamie Dixon this year, and they currently sit at 5-5 in Big 12 play. This stretch of Big 12 games for Texas Tech is brutal but wins are needed to make the tourney. Can the Red Raiders win in Ft Worth?

TCU Key Players
Category | Stat | Name |
Points/Game | 14.3 | F Vladimir Brodziansky |
Rebounds/Game | 9.3 | G Kenrich Williams |
Assist/Game | 5.6 | G Alex Robinson |
3pt Made/3pt % | 32/93, 34.4% | G Jaylen Fisher |
Free Throw % | 85/108, 78.7% | F Vladimir Brodziansky |
Vladimir Brodziansky and Kenrich Williams are still leading the way for the Horned Frogs. Brodziansky averages a team best 14.3 points per game while Williams is almost averaging a double-double per game with 10.3 points and 9.3 rebounds. That's a fantastic stat line, it's not every day you see a guard average 10 rebounds a game. The Red Raiders big men will have to try to limit the Horned Frogs from snagging very crucial rebounds.
Last 5 Games
1/21 #6 Baylor | L 62-53 |
1/23 Oklahoma State | L 89-76 |
1/28 Auburn | L 88-80 |
2/1 Kansas State | W 86-80 OT |
2/4 Texas | W 78-63 |
TCU stumbled for a 4 game stretch but they have won their last two. The Horned Frogs, like the Red Raiders, find themselves in a make or break situation for the NCAA tournament. I expect this one to come down to the wire in Ft Worth.
Prediction
Texas Tech 75 - TCU 73
The Red Raiders and Horned Frogs need wins right now. Texas Tech needs them a little bit more and I think Chris Beard will have his guys ready to go. Texas Tech's bigs have to slow down Vladimir Brodziansky to win this one.
