Earlier this week the Red Raiders added a new commit to the 2018 recruiting class.

Gabriel Douglas out of Ryan High School in Denton is the newest Texas Tech commit for the 2018 class. Douglas is 4-star on both Rivals and Scout and is on the cusp of being a 4-star on 24/7. He stands at 6'2" and right around 195 pounds. Texas Tech was his first offer and he was quick to pull the trigger. Douglas' quarterback, Spencer Sanders, is also a Texas Tech target although Sanders is currently committed to Oklahoma St. The 2018 signing day is so far away, so hopefully the Red Raiders can keep Douglas locked in for the next year and a half.
At the moment, the 2018 recruiting class for Texas Tech is ranked number 1 in the Big 12 and 7th in the nation according to 24/7. Let that set in for a second. 7th in the nation and 1st in the Big 12 is pretty dang incredible. It is still super early but the 2018 class could be a huge turning point for the Red Raiders.
