This Week In Texas Tech Sports - 4/6 to 4/12

All your news from the week in one post.

Rob Schumacher-USA TODAY Sports

Well, it's definitely been a week or something like that. Max Olson of ESPN wrote a good piece on DeAndre Washington and the resurgence of the Texas Tech running game that you can read here. Olson sat down to talk with Kliff Kingsbury about everything Texas Tech related, from coaching at his alma mater, to the youth of his coaching staff, to his mentor, Rex Ryan. That article can be found here. Don Williams of the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal wrote a very in depth piece about Mike Mitchell and his road to Lubbock, which you can read here.

Matias Dominguez scored a hole-in-one at the Masters on Wednesday. This is honestly one of the coolest things i've seen in a while. It's nice to have your school represented well on a stage like the Masters.

Baseball played well this week, losing by one run to Oral Roberts and sweeping the Baylor Bears over the weekend. Saturday's game featured a walk-off home run by freshman Orlando Garcia.

Texas Tech softball got a key series win over the #25 Kansas Jayhawks over the weekend. It was a quality win in a tough stretch for them.

Spelling errors aside, Red Raider tennis pulled off a clutch upset over the #1 ranked Oklahoma Sooners.

All in all, it's been a great week in Texas Tech sports. In case your Monday is going a little bit rough, here's a highlight tape from the Fresh Prince of Defense himself, Will Smith. (NSFW lyrics)
