Texas Tech 70 TCU 60

There were no more upsets in Ft. Worth, as the Red Raiders defeated TCU, 70 - 60.  Martin Zeno had an incredible game from a statistical perspective.  He, along with Jackson, played all 40 minutes, 19 points, 8 boards and 6 assists.  Charlie Burgess led Tech with 20 points and made 6 of 7 three pointers.

According to the game recap, Tech struggled in the 2nd half and TCU tied the game at 44 with 10:45 left to play in the game.  Tech ran off 8 straight and the game got as close as 49 to 52 Tech with 5:54 left.

Once again, Plefka had 3 rebounds in 13 minutes and Dora stepped up the pace with 7 rebounds in 35 minutes.  Still not what you would expect from your post players, but I'll take it.

We have a couple of really good quotes from Knight in the above referenced Yahoo article.  I honestly believe that Knight is more worried about this team than the record:

"If it hadn't been for people asking me, I honestly wouldn't know what it was," Knight said. "That doesn't affect me one way or the other. All that means is I've coached a long time and had a lot of good players."

Jackson didn't have his typical game, but now we know why:

Jarrius Jackson finished with 16 points despite struggling most of the night, playing on the same day that his grandfather died.

"He had a tough time. I'm sure that was on his mind," Knight said of Jackson. "I think it's just a big thing that he was here to play."

Knight is ever so close to the all-time victories record, and he now stands only 5 wins from breaking Dean Smith's record.
