Douglas Coleman III is now the fifth Texas Tech alum to enter the NFL following the 2019 season and 2020 Draft. Coleman III had 8 interceptions last season, third most in the NCAA. The 8 interceptions were the most by a Red Raider since Tracy Saul in 1991. They also tie for the second most ever in Big 12 history. The DB is a great addition to the Denver defense that could use a big play weapon.

Coleman had more tackles his senior year than he did his junior and sophomore seasons combined. The ball-hawking safety no doubt has shown flashes of NFL athleticism and ability. He has proven he can play in multiple coverages and has the awareness to anticipate where the pass is going. His pass break ups, tackling ability, and interceptions should earn him a permanent roster spot come fall for the Broncos.
