The score is final and the Red Raiders are moving on to the Super Regional Round of the NCAA Tournament. The final, 3-0 was a masterful display of pitching by two of the best pitchers the Red Raiders have to offer, Bryce Bonnin and John McMillon. The Red Raiders will face the winner of the Stillwater Regional which will be decided by a winner take all game tomorrow night between Big 12 foe and host Oklahoma State and Connecticut.

The Red Raiders did all of their scoring on one play, one hit, a big one from senior Cam Warren. He blasted a three-run homer with two outs in the first inning. The Red Raiders finished with 6 hits on the night, including 2 from Cam Warren and Josh Jung. Warren has been on a tear this weekend, hitting three homers in three days.

The pitching was masterful this game, from beginning to end. Bryce Bonnin got the start and lasted 7 innings. He allowed no runs on three hits, striking out seven and only walking two. He threw 95 pitches and controlled the game from the first pitch. He held down the fort until the end of the seventh inning when John McMillon came in and got his second save of the season. McMillon threw two innings where he only allowed two hits and struck out five.

These Red Raiders have been on fire these recent weeks, and what’s better is that the home field advantage continues this weekend in the Super Regional Round. The Red Raiders get an extra day of rest for their pitching staff who honestly didn’t get overworked this weekend, using only seven pitchers and allowing only four runs. This pitching staff should come into this with one less game pitched and one more day rest than the opponent. No matter the opponent, these Red Raiders will be ready for the task.
