All it took was a little Mac Brown magic

NCAA Football: Texas Tech at Oklahoma Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

It’s not easy being a Texas Tech football fan right now, but we lost to a team that pretty much everybody knew we would. Now we’ve got Oklahoma-lite in our own house. Until then let’s see what all changed in the SBNation FanPulse; the most accurate, fan-based top 25 in the nation:

A new leader! After five weeks of football Clemson finally has been dethroned and all it took was North Carolina giving them the scare of their life last weekend. Beyond that the top 10 had minimal changes outside of one bye-week bust in Texas. We’re gonna have some fun this weekend.

Biggest winners:

  • Alabama, for moving into the No. 1 spot we all knew they would be in.
  • Cal, for jumping to No, 18 from No. 25 after losing to Arizona State last weekend, 24-17

Biggest losers:

  • Texas, dropping two spots after not playing anybody.
  • Michigan State, for falling from No. 17 to No. 24 after winning against Indiana, 40-31

Texas Tech fans’ Top 25:

  1. Alabama
  2. Georgia
  3. Clemson
  4. Ohio State
  5. Oklahoma
  6. LSU
  7. Auburn
  8. Wisconsin
  9. Florida
  10. Notre Dame
  11. Penn State
  12. Texas
  13. Oregon
  14. Iowa
  15. Washington
  16. Boise State
  17. Cal
  18. Utah
  19. Virginia
  20. Michigan
  21. UCF
  22. USC
  23. Texas A&M
  24. Michigan State
  25. Kansas State

takeaways:

  • Oklahoma State is getting no love after that loss to Texas.
  • You guys punished Clemson more for their close win to UNC than the average.

Texas Tech fans’ confidence in the program:

It’s still going down. Will a victory against Oklahoma State in Lubbock right the ship? Were Wells, Patterson, and Yost prepared for the Big 12? Too many questions - not enough answers. For now.
