The coaching hot stove is currently ablaze as it seems like Texas Tech may be closing in on the next head coach. That being said, there was another coach it seemed like the fan-base wanted to lead the team going forward, but apparently Dana Holgorsen was not in Tech AD Kirby Hocutt’s vision.
We can confirm that Dana Holgorsen was interested in the Texas Tech opening but Kirby Hocutt declines to interview him morning. @RedRaiderNation @KAMCNews

Holgorsen has compiled a 61-40 coaching record in his eight seasons at West Virginia including two 10-win seasons. Holgorsen was one win away from appearing in the Big 12 championship game this year with Heisman Trophy candidate Will Grier.
Not even interviewing Holgorsen is a move that is sure to have the fan-base questioning the search but if the new Tech head coach indeed starts to win quickly, this will all be forgotten soon.
