It has happened, Kliff Kingsbury has been fired by Texas Tech University. Kingsbury left with a 35-40 record including a 5-7 record this season. People have been calling for his firing for weeks now a the football team has been on a skid losing five straight to end the season.

The Kingsbury era will be remembered for high flying offenses and a lack of a defensive presence. It will also be remembered for an awful home record, and an inability to win the big game, as he only amassed one bowl win in his time here. Kingsbury never won more than 8 games in Lubbock, as the expectations were high when he was hired in 2013 to replace Tommy Tuberville.

This season’s team will be remembered for another November slump, as the team was 5-2 going into the game against Iowa State. The expectations were high at this time with the emergence of freshman quarterback Alan Bowman. Since then, the team has lost to Iowa State, Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas State, and Baylor.

We thank coach Kingsbury for his time in Lubbock and wish him the best in his future endeavors.
