@vivathematadors Will Jett Duffey return to the program?

Solid question! Let’s recap, for those of you who don’t know ... Texas Tech QB Jett Duffey was suspended from Tech. A former Mahomes’ protege, Duffey is currently suspended for six months from the program. The details of his suspension have been hush hush, which could bode well for Duffey’s return. Then again he is missing quality practice time. I believe the former first-team all-state and Class 5A player of the year will make a return, but if it’s in time before another gunslinger emerges from the shadows, who knows?
Honestly, Erik, Kliff Kingsbury will have to make due with what he has. At this point in the off season, it’s all about developing the players he has already taking snaps. I am sure Kliff wants to save his job as much as we want a winning season.
I think it is a cocktail of everything - coaches, location, facilities, friends and family traditions. West Texas can hold a special place in people’s hearts and the scarlet and black bleed deep in family traditions. The remarks I have heard from former players who did not have a personal connection to the university is how the campus and the coaches sold the Texas Tech pride. Again, that is a focus group of one, me.
With great power comes great responsibility. Cliche, I know. But being a head coach, all responsibility is on Kliff’s shoulders. And how many defensive coordinators would you like to churn and burn out at Texas Tech? Consistency in coaching staffs build powerhouse programs.
Yes. Is this a serious question?
