Lost in the action of last night’s 59-45 victory over Louisiana Tech was a huge verbal commitment for the Red Raiders’ 2018 recruiting class. Cameron Jones announced via Twitter that he is committed to Texas Tech

Jones is a 6’0” 187 pound safety from Euless Trinity. According to recruiting websites, he’s a four star prospect, making him a huge addition for Texas Tech’s 2018 class. Just three games into his junior season of high school right now, it’s important to remember this is just a verbal commitment. Between now and 2018 signing day, about a year and a half away, other schools are bound to pursue him and make offers.
One thing that might help Texas Tech retain Jones is his current high school teammate John Davis, a cornerback set to arrive in Lubbock for the 2017 season. Courtesy of Hudl, here are Cameron Jones’ highlights from his first few games this season.
