JUCO transfer signing day is today, meaning some junior college players that have been on our commit list can now put their verbal promise to paper and make it official. The players that had previously announced their commitment to make it official today were quarterback McLane Carter, safety Vaughnte Dorsey, and linebacker Tony Jones.
An additional two players signed with Texas Tech today as well. First up is an offensive lineman, Jacob Hines, out of Long Beach, who we offered in May of this year. Jacob is a 2-star 6’4 310 pound recruit that will add some immediate depth to a young and thin line up front.

The other pick up is a big-time player, Octavious Morgan, out of Greenwood, South Carolina. Octavious is a 6’0 200 pound cornerback coming to us from Butler Community College. Scout has Morgan listed as the 15th best JUCO player in 2017, and a 4-star recruit. 247 has him as a 3-star, graded at 0.8698, with interest from SEC and Big 12 schools.
