On Saturday Texas Tech senior wide receiver Devin Lauderdale announced on his Twitter that he will be participating in the Tropical Bowl. This is an FBS Division I level college football all-star game that is played each year in mid January. The game gives top college football seniors a chance to impress NFL scouts, coaches and general managers during the week leading up to the game itself.
Happy to announce that I got invited to the @TropicalBowlUSA I'll see you there ..... pic.twitter.com/TBV3eI0V6I— DEVIN LAUDERDALE (@d_lauderdale_) December 11, 2016
Lauderdale had a rough senior season at Tech, catching only 31 passes for 307 yards and two touchdowns. He also only played in seven games. With an invite to an all-star game like this, Lauderdale has a chance to show his talent and take his first step on the road to playing in the pros. The Tropical Bowl will be played on January 15, 2017 at Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium in Daytona Beach, FL. Good luck Devin!
