Well that was disappointing. The Red Raiders had a bad opening half and that ended up biting them in the end. Tech’s offense struggled the last eight minutes of the first half and really did not get much better until about the last fourteen minutes of the game. The half time score was 38-23. The second half had Tech trailing by about ten to twelve points most of the way. Finally, with about eight minutes to go, the Red Raiders got the lead down to eight points. The game was total grind for Tech and the team deserves a ton of credit for the way they kept clawing and fighting to mount a comeback. No doubt they will learn a lot from this game.
- The first half stats were pretty bad. 1/8 from three, 9 turnovers, and only 23 points.
- Aaron Ross was the leading scorer with 14 points.
- Texas Tech was 14/17 from the free throw line tonight.
- Tech ended up with 16 turnovers tonight and that will have to be cleaned up if we want success in conference play.
The Red Raiders will play the loser of tonight's Purdue/Utah State game tomorrow evening.
