A&M Series Recap
A couple weeks ago the Red Raiders welcomed in the Aggies to their “home” rink in Odessa for a 2-game series. In game 1, the Aggies took a 1-0 lead after the 1st period, which the Red Raiders answered with a goal of their own (Ryan Costello) to go into the 3rd all tied up. With just 4 minutes left in the game and a 5-2 Tech lead, the power went out in MCM Arena. The Aggies were not pleased with this turn of events.
With Tech up 5-2, the power goes out in the city of Odessa and the game ends in no contest.

Afterwards, it was decided to resume the game the following evening before game 2 of the series. Tech added another goal to win the game 6-2.
Somewhat similar to the Red Raider football team, game 2 featured almost no defense. The Aggies went up 2-0 in the 1st, and after 2 it was 8-2. Tech came roaring back, but ultimately fell short 11-7. However Austin Murray and Tommy Dierl each scored 1 in the 2nd and 2 apiece in the 3rd for hat tricks.
Season Update
The Red Raiders are at a disadvantage compared to the other teams in that they cannot have official practices with no ice rink in Lubbock. However, they are 7-4 on the season with a 6-4 record in the Texas Collegiate Hockey Conference. This gives them 18 points (3 for each win, take note NHL) which is good enough for 3rd in the state, and 2nd in the North division. Thomas Dierl is 4th in goal scoring (15 goals) in all of division 2 of the ACHA, and currently 20th in points (23).
