Today, Corey Dauphine announced via Twitter that he will be transferring form Texas Tech and enroll somewhere else in the spring. He did not list any school in particular, so I would imagine at this point he is investigating what opportunities might be out there at other schools and taking visits to see where he would like to finish his career.
It is likely that Dauphine will have a good chance to play wherever he winds up. He was very highly recruited out of high school, fielding offers from Tennessee, Michigan, and Florida among many others. Dauphine redshirted last season and hasn’t seen much action this year behind Justin Stockton, Demarcus Felton, and Da’Leon Ward.
Dauphine did show flashes of the speed that made him so highly sought after coming out of high school in the Texas Tech season opener against Stephen F. Austin, breaking off a long touchdown run late in the game.
For what it’s worth, Dauphine retweeted a University of Houston Coach last week before being passed over in favor of Da’Leon Ward in garbage time against West Virginia on Saturday. Regardless, Dauphine had good things to say about Texas Tech in his post on Twitter, which you can see below. We wish him the best of luck wherever he winds up.
