Texas Tech's baseball team went 1-3 last week, dropping a game at New Mexico then lost 2 of 3 to TCU at home. The win against TCU does provide some comfort though because they are one of the top teams in the nation. Tech dropped 2 spots in the NCCA rankings and are ranked #23. Before Baylor comes to town Tech heads to Oral Roberts for a game, they split a two-game series back in mid-March. Softball didn't get any luck last week, they were swept by a strong Baylor squad. They almost snuck out of Waco with its first conference win but Baylor beat them in extra innings. This week the Lady Raiders host #14 Kansas and look to pick up that elusive first Big 12 win of the season.

This week will be a crucial one for the baseball team. Last week Tech dropped 3 of 4 and now host Baylor this week in a very important series. Before Baylor comes to town, Tech heads to Oral Roberts for a game. Earlier this year Tech and Oral Roberts split a two-game series before conference play started. If we can go there and pick up a win it should kickstart the week. Baylor heads to Lubbock with the same conference record (4-5) as Tech. While Baylor's overall record isn't all that impressive (12-19) don't sleep on the Bears. They usually have a pretty good baseball squad. If Texas Tech can win 3 of 4 this week that would be great. It would be nice to head into next week with a record above .500 in Big 12 play. Tech plays all 3 games against Baylor of Fox Sports Southwest Plus, so make sure you tune in to see them in action.
Softball
Texas Tech (16-23, 0-6) vs #14 Kansas (32-5, 3-3), 4/10-4/12
It seems like the Lady Raiders play a tough opponent every week now. First it was #23 Washington, then #18 Oklahoma, followed by #30 Baylor and now they face #14 Kansas. Softball has dropped 8 straight now but did play Baylor very tight last week in their series finale. Tech ended up dropping the finale 6-5 in 9 innings last week, this goes to show they are capable of playing with a very good team. Texas Tech is still looking for its first Big 12 win of the season and with a bit of luck they can steal one or maybe two away from Kansas.
