Texas Tech Basketball Schedule Released; Possible Addition to Staff?

The Big 12 and Texas Tech released their respective basketball schedules and notes on a possible addition to the Texas Tech basketball staff.

Yesterday the Big 12 and Texas Tech officially released the conference and non-conference schedules for the 2013-14 year. The Tubby Smith era will begin on November 8th against Houston Baptist at the United Spirit Arena. There are a handful of games at the USA before heading off to Brooklyn for the Legends Classic at the Barclays Center with games against Pittsburgh and either Houston or Stanford.

Last year, Texas Tech hosted a handful of prominent games and will now need to travel to take on Alabama, Arizona and Arizona St. Texas Tech will host LSU as the lone non-conference game that looks to be the best home game of that non-conference schedule.

The first Big 12 conference game is January 4th, at home, against Iowa St.

In other men's basketball news and hat-tip to the ever present @TTUHoopsFans, via the Star Tribune it appears that Tubby Smith has added Steve Goodson to the Texas Tech staff. The writer for the Star Tribune is your typical veteran journalist that seems pretty plugged in to Minnesota sports, so I think this is pretty reliable. Goodson was retained as part of Richard Pitino's staff as the Director of Basketball Operations for Minnesota and had been with Smith previously. You can check out Goodson's Minnesota biography and know that Goodson was with Smith when he was at Kentucky.
