1. Daniels Admits to Drug Use | Per this ABQJournal article, former Texas Tech running back Ronnie Daniels posted a lengthy post to Facebook where he admitted to drug use, among other things, and the drug use was the reason why he lost his scholarship at Texas Tech. Daniels said he failed seven drug tests at Texas Tech.
2. A Super Cell Near Booker, Texas | Hat-tip Gear Patrol, I don't need really any further explanation other than you should watch this:
3. Oregon Sanctions | There was a lot of big news yesterday, but the big news in the NCAA was that the NCAA handed down sanctions to Oregon and they weren't really all that bad. SB Nation has the details as does Bylaw Blog's John Infante.
4. Not Household Names Yet | CBS Sports picks a handful of football players that are not household names yet, which included TE Jace Amaro.
5. Under The Radar | ESPN's Ubben hates you and he also thinks that DE Dartwan Bush is an under the radar player.
6. Big 12 as Game of Thrones | I feel like I'm the only blogger that doesn't watch this, but Burnt Orange Nation has the Big 12 as Game of Thrones characters.
7. Softball Review | The official site has their official review of the softball season where the team finished 30-26 overall and from what I was able to garner through the season, head coach Shanon Hayes played a lot of young players.
8. Buchanan on Whitaker's Coaching Staff | The LAJ has the latest on assistant coach Damitria Buchanan who is joining Lady Raider head coach Candace Whitaker's coaching staff. Buchanan talks about how hard the team has been working this summer:
"They’re working really hard," Buchanan said. "They’re trying to be leaders. I know we’ll have a young team, so we’re pushing for our younger players to step up and not be afraid to lead our juniors and seniors. But from what I’ve seen so far, they’re willing to learn. They’re not negative at all and they’re willing to do whatever the coaches ask them to do. So that’s refreshing, and hopefully by the time fall comes and we have our full team and our full pieces together, we’ll be ready to go for Big 12 play."
9. Lots of Returning Talent to the Big 12 | The LAJ has the finishing touches from Monday's Big 12 coaches conference call and has quotes from a handful of Big 12 coaches about the returning talent in the conference.
