Yesterday the Red Raiders received two commitments. One from LB Tony Jones and one from RB Desmond Nisby.

Though he never used the word "committed", it does appear Nisby is going to be a Red Raider. Texas Tech now has 6 JUCO commits and the last 4 commits have come from the JUCO ranks. Nisby is the second running back commit for the Red Raiders with Tyree Range being the other. Range, like Nisby, is also a JUCO product. A California native, Nisby played at Santa Rosa Junior College in 2014 and then transferred to Diablo Valley College where he played this season. Listed at 6'2" 240 pounds, Nisby is far from a scat back. He's a big bruising back who fights through would-be tacklers. Texas Tech's run game took a step back this season, and I expect both Range and Nisby to provide solid depth at the running back position.
