Football adds a prestigious running back to 2020 class

This player is the fifth back inTexas, and he’s coming to Lubbock!

After a month in which Matt Wells and his staff worked below deck to improve the 2020 class, finally on Saturday we saw the results of their jobs, as four players committed to Texas Tech.

The first one we want to present is Tahj Brooks, a 5’9”, 212 pounds running back out of Manor, Texas.

According to 247sports.com, Brooks is a three-star prospect, and he’s ranked as the 35th back in the nation (fifth in Texas), and 72nd player out of the lone star state. He accepted Texas Tech’s offer after he de-committed from Tulsa.

He received many offers from important schools in the nation, like Arizona, Arkansas, Boston College, Cal, Colorado, Duke, Georgia Tech, Iowa State, Kansas State, Minnesota, Missouri, TCU (that seemed to be the frontrunner for a period of time), and Utah.

In these highlights, we can see a bulked player, with interesting footwork and the ability and patience to wait for a hole to open and jump in. The depth chart at running back is thin at the moment, so we’re sure Brooks will have every possibility to show his promising talent.

Welcome, Tahj!
