Sooners lone undefeated team in conference after Cyclones take out the Cowboys

1. Oklahoma- Having to escape with an ugly win against Kansas wasn’t ideal, but the Sooners managed to prevail. Now they welcome in a Texas Tech team fresh off of firing their head coach.
2. Oklahoma State- Even after an unfortunate loss to the Cyclones, the Cowboys are still at number two here as they still have a chance to right the ship and win the conference title. They get a nice bounce back game against Kansas.
3. Baylor- A tough matchup against Texas this week will show if the Bears are really in the hunt this year or if they’ve just managed to skate by so far.
4. Iowa State- Ending the Cowboys hopes for an undefeated season was a nice was to turn this season around. The Cyclones have put themselves back into the race for the Big 12 title and are also back in the national rankings.
5. Texas- While their hopes for the Big 12 title are likely gone, they can play spoiler by putting the Bears into the same boat. This offense can be explosive, but the defense is lackluster at best and has been the downfall of this team.
6. TCU- Not showing up against West Virginia was an ugly look for this team. They now head to Kansas State to face a Wildcats team high off of their comeback win against the Red Raiders.
7. Kansas State- The comeback win against Texas Tech that ultimately lead to their Head Coach getting fired was nice for this team and helped turn their season around. They now host the Horned Frogs and can easily put a nice win streak together with a solid performance.
8. Texas Tech- Allowing the Wildcats to come back was the final straw for Matt Wells as he was shown the door a few days after. Now this team needs to get ready to head to Norman for a nice 2:30 matchup on ABC to take on the Sooners and try to become bowl eligible.
9. West Virginia- The win against TCU showed that this team isn’t done with this season just yet. If they can put together a few more performances like that, we can see this team become bowl eligible and completely turn around what looked to be a lost season.
10. Kansas- Being able to hang with the Sooners as long as they did was nice to see. Now they get to face the other Oklahoma team and try to finish the job this week, which would be a nice win for this team.

Key Matchups: Texas vs Baylor is the most intriguing matchup as the Bears look to move up the national rankings and set up a potential Top-10 matchup against the Sooners in a few weeks. Another game to look at will be the Texas Tech vs Oklahoma game. While this looks to be a blowout on paper, the Red Raiders could come out and shock the Sooners just a few days after letting their head coach go.
