The Red Raiders are booming right now. Currently 8-1 and ranked number 2 in the country, Tech gets their first road test of the season against Florida Atlantic and 2019 CWS opponent Florida State.

The three game road trip to Tallahassee starts off with the Red Raiders facing off against a 7-0 Owls squad on Friday afternoon. Florida Atlantic has started their campaign off with a bang with sweeps against Delaware and Binghamton, and a victory against Florida Gulf Coast. The Red Raiders should look out for two-way threat junior Mitchell Hartigan. The junior has started off 2020 solid with a .478 batting average, 8 RBI’s and just one home run. On the mound, the Owls have tons of depth they could use throughout the game but Tech shouldn’t have a problem taking their pitchers yard. Here, the Red Raider’s hot streak continues as they secure a strong win.
Game Prediction: 11-5 Tech

After a Friday afternoon match up with Florida Atlantic, the Red Raiders take on 2019 CWS opponent Florida State. A team that lost to the Red Raiders 4-1 in the eliminator game and led to the retirement of long-time head coach legendary Mike Martin. Coming into the two-game series, the Seminoles currently stand at 6-1 with their lone loss against Niagara on Opening Day. Freshman Tyler Martin is the current threat at the plate standing at an average of .412 and 6 RBI’s so far on the year. On the mound for the Seminoles, they haven’t let up a lot of runs this season, but that will change once Tech comes to town this weekend. The bats have stayed hot for the Red Raiders and don’t show a single sign of slowing down. However, Florida State is a very good squad and don’t seem to be missing a single step from their run last season despite the loss of Martin.
