Tech baseball leads with six pre-season All-Big 12 selections

The Big 12 released their All-Conference selections and Tech leads with six selections.

The Big 12 league office has officially announced the pre-season All-American rosters. Satisfyingly, Tech leads with six players named to the rosters.

Junior outfielder Dylan Neuse was among three unanimous selections. This nomination was Neuse’s first pre-season honor after making second team All-Big 12 in 2019. Neuse also led the Big 12 in 2019 with six triples, third in runs scored, fifth in stolen bases and sixth in RBI’s and was also added to the Bobby Bragan Collegiate Slugger watch list midway through the season.

Senior second baseman Brian Klein received yet another honor before the 2020 season as he was also named to Collegiate Baseball Newspaper’s All-America second team and D1 Baseball’s third team. In 2019, Klein was an All-Big 12 second team selection and was third in RBI’s and walks. As well as being fourth in hits during last season.

Junior catcher Braxton Fulford earned his first-ever pre-season honor after having a solid 2019 campaign that saw Fulford start 57 games. Fulford furthered his case during the 2019 season as he led the Red Raiders with a .406 batting average during the NCAA Tournament and was also named to the All-Lubbock Regional team.

Fellow senior John McMillon was outstanding last season, having the ability to throw 90-plus consistently on the gun. In 2019, McMillon was and All-Big 12 honorable mention, and was drafted in the 11th round of the 2019 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers, but decided to forgo the MLB to return to the Red Raiders. In his career, McMillon has racked up 169 strikeouts in 136 innings and was also named to the All-Lubbock regional team in 2019.

Phenom sophomore right hander Micah Dallas was explosive in his freshman season in 2019. Dallas was the only freshman in a Power Five conference going into the CWS with a 7-0 record. Along with being named to the 2019 D1 Baseball Freshman All-America second team, Dallas was also a Big 12 All-Freshman team and All-Lubbock regional team selection.

Redshirt sophomore pitcher Clayton Beeter was also solid on the mound in 2019. Being named to the All-Big 12 second team and All-Big 12 Freshman team. Beeter shared third place in the Big 12 with eight saves and struck out 40 batters in just over 20 innings.
