For the first time in seven years, the Lady Raiders notched a big win against TCU in Ft. Worth, 80-76. After the hard loss against Iowa State last week, Stollings and crew didn’t let the first punch knock them out. Five Lady Raiders finished the night with double-digit points, led by Jo’Nah Johnson’s 20 points and six assists in her first game back. Lexi Gordon and Sydney Goodson also each marked 15 points, with Gordon also collecting 15 rebounds.

The Horned Frogs, previously 10-2, only amassed a four point lead in the first quarter but a 9-3 run by the Lady Raiders helped leap TTU forward for a while. By the end of the second quarter Texas Tech was ahead by as many as 16 points (44-30) as a result of an amazing 61% shooting from the field. The third and fourth quarters were more heavily favored to the Horned Frogs; TCU outscored Tech 26-16 in the third and then took the lead in the fourth. The team refused to quit quit fighting, however, and Sydney Goodson netted a clutch three-pointer to lift Tech back up over TCU for good.

Texas Tech moved to 1-1 in Big 12 play and 12-1 overall. The Lady Raiders will take on Kansas State tomorrow in the United Supermarkets Arena at 3:00pm.
