Danny Amendola, WR, Detroit

Amendola had a pretty impressive debut with the Lions over the weekend. He brought in seven of 13 targets for 104 yards and a touchdown during Sunday’s 27-27 tie with the Cardinals. It was a great night up until the final minutes of overtime, when he caught a ball on the perimeter during a hurry-up situation. Though he should have gone out of bounds, he inexplicably stayed in bounds and bled out a significant chunk of the clock. You would think after nine years he’d know what to do. Maybe he was trying to help his best friend and new Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury.
Patrick Mahomes, QB, Kansas City

Texas Tech’s pride and Kansas City’s MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes did nothing but impress the audience against the Jaguars. went 25/33 for 378 yards and three touchdowns passing. He also added two rushing yards of his own in the Chiefs’ win. Unfortunately for Chiefs fans, he suffered a sprained ankle. He stayed in the game, so it doesn’t seem like a significant injury, but he was forced to limp through the second half of the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. This is not what you want for your quarterback to deal with it for the rest of the year. As of Wednesday morning, it looks like he will be playing this weekend, but a lot can happen between now and Sunday.
Sam Eguavoen, LB, Miami

The Dolphins may have lost to the Ravens (59-10) on Sunday, but that could not dim Eguavoen’s light. In his first NFL game, he recorded four tackles and 0.5 sacks and worked in a hefty role by playing 68 of 77 snaps and putting pressure on Ravens QB Lamar Jackson. Eguavoen comes to the Dolphins after a short stint in the CFL.
Jakeem Grant, WR/KR, Miami

Grant returned three kickoffs for 59 yards, had one punt for no yards and two tackles in Sunday’s loss to the Ravens. He also brought in one of three targets for a loss of three yards during Sunday’s 59-10 loss to the Ravens. Though Grant was listed as one of the Dolphins’ starting receivers for Week 1, he was overshadowed by undrafted rookie Preston Williams, who caught three passes for 24 yards and a touchdown.
DeAndre Washington, RB, Oakland

Washington had two carries for eight yards in Monday’s 24-16 win over Denver. Unfortunately for Washington, it looks like Josh Jacobs was definitely the lead back, taking 43 snaps while Washington only saw 5 snaps.
