Alan Bowman given 60:1 odds to win Heisman Trophy

The oddsmakers list the sophomore quarterback in their top-20 Heisman favorites

NCAA Football: Texas Tech at Oklahoma State Brett Rojo-USA TODAY Sports

On November 3, 2018, Alan Bowman gave the No. 7 Oklahoma Sooners everything they could handle.

He completed a ridiculous 80.8 percent of his passes, throwing for 227 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. The nation watched as the true freshman came within less than a touchdown of securing the biggest upset of the season.

The oddsmakers in Vegas were watching, too, and must’ve seen what the rest of the Red Raider nation sees - a kid who can flat out play. At 6’3, Bowman has the unique size of arm strength, talent and accuracy to flourish in Big 12 football, with the potential to elevate the Texas Tech football program to the top tier in the conference during his tenure in Lubbock before going on to the NFL as an early-round draft pick.

And now that the decision makers at www.MyTopSportsbooks.com have released their list of favorites to win the Heisman Trophy next season, it should come as no surprise to see Bowman’s name on the early list of contenders.

As you can see below, Trevor Lawrence is the clear favorite, with Tua Tagovailoa not too far behind. But often times in the Heisman race, we see the voters get bored with the clear favorites and look for the underdog, the guy no one thought would be in the conversation as serious candidates, who leads their team to unprecedented success behind some gaudy numbers. Does that sound like anyone to you?
