There’s only 66 days left until the start of the Texas Tech football season and today, we’ll be talking about another offensive line prospect, Hakeem White. White was redshirted last season and played on the scout team at guard for the Red Raiders.

White hails from Waco, Texas where he attended Midway High School. Midway made it to the state championship in his senior season and came up just short of making a perfect season. White chose the Red Raiders over offers from Houston, Kansas State, and Missouri.
Looking at his high school tape, you can see why the Red Raiders loved White going into the recruiting class of 2018. He is very quick for his size and is great at blocking at the second and third level of the defense. This means his quickness allows him to catch speedier positioned defensive players such as linebackers and safeties. He was also very good as pass blocking out of a three point stance.

There’s no doubt in my mind that White will be competing for a backup spot behind starters Jack Anderson and Madison Akamnonu. His speed is something that I’m sure Head Coach Matt Wells and Offensive Line Coach Steve Farmer love about White. With another year of development under his belt, White could be a force to be reckoned with come 2020.
