Texas Tech mounts extraordinary comeback to eliminate Arkansas from the CWS 5-4

The Texas Tech Red Raiders were down three runs early against the Arkansas Razorbacks before roaring back to win 5-4 in what was more back and forth than both teams would’ve liked (and my blood pressure, too).

Cam Warren was able to get the Red Raiders on the board with a two-run shot in the bottom of the fourth inning. Easton Murrell would get the better end of his former team and eventually tie the game at 3-3 with a solo shot in the fifth. What a time for your first home run, huh?

Cody Master’s first triple of the season drove in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning to score Cam Warren, who somehow, wheeled his way around to score from first. Taylor Floyd held off Arkansas in the ninth and the No. 8 national seed Red Raiders (45-19) bounced back with their backs against the “elimination wall”.

Caleb Kilian was absolutely brilliant today, going seven strong innings, while tying his career high by striking out nine and only giving up three runs on six hits. He possibly had his signature “Red Raider” moment, when Tim Tadlock came out to the mound, clearly looking to make a change, and Kilian shook his head and Tadlock left him in to finish out the seventh. Big kudos to Caleb for his performance.

This team plays the winner of Florida State and Michigan on Wednesday night. So, go ahead and apologize to your boss and coworkers for stressing out at your desk on a casual Monday afternoon.
