After falling behind by as many as ten the Red Raiders have been able to stabilize the gap at around 7-9 points, currently trailing 50-41. Coach Beard has gone with a small ball lineup with five guards, and it’s worked offensively, with Brandone Francis and Kyler Edwards having 21 of the team’s 41 points. Unfortunately for Tech Jarrett Culver is still struggling with his shot, having only seven points on 2/12 shooting.
Chris Beard will have to find a way to contain Deandre Hunter, as he has the last six points for the Cavaliers. Tariq Owens has not looked comfortable in the second half, as his late switches has allowed multiple threes in the half.
Tech is not out of this game, however they will need to find more offense to take the game from Virginia. The last 12 minutes will be interesting.
