The news is official: McLane Carter is leaving the program. This is not really news to those of us who have followed the quarterback situation closely as Jett Duffey has taken the backup role with the sophomore superstar Alan Bowman taking the reins as starter. Carter made the news official on his Twitter page earlier today:

Carter started the first game of the season for the Red Raiders before getting injured in the first quarter when Alan Bowman took over. The rest is history as they say as Bowman and Duffey took the majority of the snaps for the rest of the season. Carter did start the last game of the season for the Red Raiders, throwing for 247 yards and 2 touchdowns in a loss to Baylor.

We wish Carter the best in his future endeavors and hope he does well wherever he goes.
