Pitcher of the week: Bryce Bonnin

The Red Raiders struggled to win games this week but did have an outstanding game against New Mexico State at home. The transfer from the University of Arkansas shined in his second appearance as a Red Raider.

Bonnin was dealing in the shutout against the Aggies. He had 3 strikeouts, 2 walks, 1 HBP, 0 ER, and gave up 4 hits in 6 innings pitched. Bonnin had a lot of hype surrounding him after transferring from last year’s Arkansas team that made the CWS alongside Tech.

This game certainly reflected the type of production that many have expected from the highly rated transfer. If Bonnin can keep up the strong play, he will surely find himself in the starting rotation moving forward.
