Draft profile: Preston Gordon

The McKinney product was a regular fixture for the Red Raiders.

Michael C. Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

Preston Gordon transferred to Lubbock for his senior season, adding much needed depth to the defensive line. Gordon is a bit undersized, only coming in at 280 and just an inch over 6 feet.

Gordon is a solid linemen, managing to generate 2.5 TFL in his appearances. Not world beating numbers, but he showed good technique and demonstrated his value at the Power Five level. Gordon had a good pro-day showing, which likely improved his odds of getting picked up by the big league.

In all, Gordon is likely not going to hear his name called in the draft. But, he can very well impress a team to an earn an undrafted free agent, working his way as a depth linemen or a practice squad regular.

Good luck to Preston!
