The Red Raiders played 5 games in 5 days this week – including Monday – so there were plenty of pitchers to pick from. Guys like Caleb Kilian and Micah Dallas had fantastic outings against the Michigan Wolverines.
Micah Dallas earned the honors of pitcher of the week after only giving up 1 earned run against Michigan on Thursday. Dallas held his own in a game that didn’t see a run until the 5th inning. The freshman pitched 5 innings, gave up 3 hits, 0 walks, and recorded 7 strikeouts against a total of 18 batters faced.
The pitching rotation has been a game of musical chairs, but Micah is proving to be a valuable asset for a true freshman. In his six appearances this season, Dallas has recorded 22 strikeouts and only allowed 3 earned runs in 14.1 innings pitched.
The Red Raiders are on the road to take on the Kansas State Wildcats for their second Big 12 Conference series. The Red Raiders are 1-2 in conference play and could surely use a series win to get back into the Big 12 title hunt.
