Pitcher of the Week: Another freshman

Tadlock has proven he can reload through impact freshmen

While there were some high scoring affairs between the Red Raiders and their opponents this week there was good pitching to be found. The Red Raiders followed up a losing week with a clean 5-0 sweep of both San Diego State and Wichita State.

The freshman, Micah Dallas, earned pitcher of the week honors for his two appearances against San Diego State and Wichita State. Against the Aztecs Micah faced 7 batters in 2 innings but recorded 5 strikeouts and only allowed 1 hit. His performance was enough to give the Red Raiders a contested 5-1 win and end a 2-game losing streak.

In his second appearance against the Shockers Micah faced 8 batters in 2 innings. He allowed 1 hit, 1 run, 1 walk and 2 strikeouts in Friday’s 12-2 win. While his second outing of the week was not as impressive as his first, the outing against the Aztecs was enough to warrant pitcher of the week honors.

The Red Raiders will have a few days to rest before traveling to Austin next weekend to take on the Longhorns in their opening series of Big 12 play.
