We can still hear the victorious echos in Ames that gave the Red Raiders their first Big 12 basketball title. The conference was quick to release the individual awards of the regular season and on this occasion, Texas Tech landed important recognition.

The most important one, without a doubt, is Jarrett Culver being named Big 12 Player of the Year.

The sophomore out of Lubbock had a stellar season in which he averaged 18.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.4 blocks per game. He finished his season on the highest note, as he delivered 31 points in the victory against Iowa State. This is the first time a Texas Tech player has earned this important award.

With these performances, many experts indicate Culver as a lottery pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.

Congratulations, Jarrett, this is well deserved!
