Adrian Gregory is cooking with gas to start the 2019 season. To start, the Lady Raiders knocked off Nebraska (twice) and Wisconsin. But now the team really made a state against twenty-first ranked Auburn.
The SEC is extremely proud of their softball, and the Auburn Tigers were by far the toughest challenge of the young season. But a 5-4 victory proved this team has the juice to improve upon their fifth place Big 12 finish from last year.
Last year, the bats were not the issue with 50 homers hit by the Lady Raiders. This year the pitching and fielding looks just as a hot, with only one team managing over five runs in nine games. Not only are the ladies winning, but besides Auburn, they are winning comfortably.
Baseball tends to steal the show, but this year the softball team is not willing to be second fiddle. Just think how great it would be to have not one, but two College World Series appearances from our beloved Red Raiders.
