Tech soccer wins first game in Big 12 Tournament, big basketball recruit might pick Tech today

Too many great things were going on this weekend.

Our fall sports are starting to wrap up as the Texas Tech Soccer team is looking to make a big splash in the postseason. The volleyball team got exceptionally close to a huge win against Texas this last week, and the basketball program might get a new commitment in the next couple of hours.

Micah Peavy to commit today

Peavy is the No. 43 ranked prospect in the nation and he might pick the Red Raiders today as Thursday he announced that his recruitment would end this morning. He has a Final 4 of Tech, TCU, Texas, and Florida but it appears as though the two main contenders are Texas and Texas Tech. Peavy was teammates last season with Red Raider Jahmi’us Ramsey and he averaged 21 points and 9 rebounds this summer for his AAU team.

Tech Soccer advances to Big 12 Semi-finals

The Lady Raiders are heading to the Big 12 Semi-Finals next weekend as they took down the Baylor Bears in Kansas City. Kirsten Davis scored the lone goal and the defense was as strong as ever as freshman Madison White tallied another shutout, this one coming at an excellent time in the season. The team will next face either Texas or TCU in the semifinals match on Friday night in Kansas City.
