Coach Stollings waltzed to 3-0 on the season in the most ironic way possible: by beating an opponent by 30 points. The Lady Raiders were led by Brittany Brewer, who tallied yet another double-double this season (that’s three in as many games), by putting up 23 points and 10 rebounds. Brewer was also on a defensive tear by blocking seven shots from the Northwestern State devils; she’s had 5+ in each game so far.

Backing Brewer up was Sydney Goodson with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Goodson has been exceptional for the Lady Raiders so far this season and even more so defensively, getting four steals in Tech’s 26 turnovers against the Devils. Chrislyn Carr also put on a clinic, earning 12 points and 10 rebounds for the first double-double of her career. Texas Tech’s offensive steamrolling was evident as they led 22-14 after one quarter; only increasing as time went on. The Lady Raider’s best defensive effort held Northwestern State to 7 points in the second quarter, while they put up a screaming 26 points to lead 48-21 at the half.

Finishing the game 79-49, a margin of thirty points, is Texas Tech’s smallest margin of victory in the 2019 season. While it is an impressive margin nonetheless there were notable areas that needed improvement such as the 39% shooting and 18 turnovers given up. Next for the Lady Raiders they will leave the sanctuary of the United Supermarkets Arena to play Purdue Fort Wayne in the San Diego Thanksgiving Classic Friday at 6:30pm.
