Here’s what you missed from Week 8 games:
Lion’s Danny Amendola caught all eight of his targets for 95 yards during Sunday’s 31-26 victory over the New York Giants. He was crucial in helping Detroit sustain drives - just like he was last week against the Vikings. In fact, he lead the team in receiving yards during the 42-30 loss to the Vikings. Though he struggled with just five receptions for 43 yards since Week 1, Amendola has been the target of almost a quarter of Matthew Stafford’s pass attempts over the past two games. If the trend continues, Amendola should have another prolific game in week nine against the Raiders.
Texans’ Keke Coutee was active for Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders, but he did not play a single snap. In post-game interviews, Coutee assured reporters he was not injured; however, the Texans decided to use DeAndre Carter instead. Just last week Coutee was responsible for a four-yard touchdown, his first of the season, and caught three of five targets for 25 yards. Unfortunately for Coutee, he also bobbled a potential catch that was intercepted by Colts linebacker Darius Leonard later in the game. In an interview after the game on Sunday, head coach Bill O’Brien claimed Coutee’s absence against the Raiders was simply because he couldn’t find the right time to use Coutee in any given play.
Raiders’ DeAndre Washington rushed for 23 yards on five carries and caught his lone target for five yards in week eight against the Texans, Just last week, Washington had a season-high in total offense in week seven’s game against Green Bay where he rushed for 29 yards on six carries and caught his lone target for 12 yards.
Great play design by Gruden. Packers in Cover 4. Outside WRs run verticals. RB Deandre Washington lined up at FB runs seam route occupying S. TE Darren Waller runs the post route and is wide open. Miami Dolphins got Jakeem Grant back last week but it won’t matter much. Grant saw minimal involvement in the Dolphins’ loss to the Bills in week seven and had two total receptions for 32 yards in week eight. He still has no touchdowns this season. He has also been playing on special teams but didn’t attempt either a kick or punt return. At this point, Grant doesn’t appear to be operating as more than a depth receiver in Miami’s offense.

Patrick Mahomes is still on IR after suffering an injury in Denver last week. He left the game after having his knee popped back into place after a quarterback sneak and did not return. Mahomes is projected to return in Week 10 against the Tennessee Titans. He has been a limited participant in practice this week, so things are certainly looking better than was first feared.
