Yes, we understand that Tech football lost in a heartbreaking and illegal fashion this weekend. However, there was so much more positive things going on from the other sports playing this weekend that you should have never noticed. Here are the quick hitters from this weekend!

Tech soccer wins first game in Morgantown

  • The team’s first ever win at West Virginia.
  • The final score was 1-0.
  • Hannah Anderson scored lone goal on a penalty kick in the 72nd minute.
  • Freshman Goalie Madison White earned her 3rd shutout this conference season.

Lady raiders volleyball wins first game against Iowa State since 2004

  • Freshman Caitlin Dugan led the team with 12 kills.
  • Sophomore Emily Hill added 11 kills, 14 digs, 2 blocks, and 4 aces.
  • Junior middle blocker Allison White added 5 blocks.
  • This is the first victory against Iowa State since 2004 for the volleyball team.

Tech soccer plays to draw against Kansas

  • Texas Tech is the only team to be undefeated in conference play.
  • Freshman goalie Madison White has 4 shutouts in 5 conference games.
  • The team is now 11-1-2 on the season and 3-0-2 in conference play.

Men’s golf wins a Big 12 Championship

  • Big 12 Match Play Championship won by the Red Raiders.
  • This is the third tournament win by the Red Raiders this season.
  • The team beat Kansas in the Championship round.
