After a rough opening game against Ole Miss, Texas Tech is looking to bounce back and beat the Lamar Cardinals. Lamar is coming off of a 70-7 win, although that win came against NAIA Kentucky Christian. Lamar has been a bottom feeder team in the Southland as of late, going 2-9 last year in Mike Schultz’s first year as coach.
The Red Raiders will probably play both Alan Bowman and Jett Duffey, as McLane Carter will almost certainly be out with a high ankle sprain. With all of the troubles Tech had in all three phases of the game last week it will be important for them to iron out those kinks before the challenge they will face in Houston (which has dynamic players on both sides of the ball.) Look for players such as T.J. Vasher, Da’Leon Ward, and Antoine Wesley to get a lot of touches early before hopefully being able to be taken out in the second half to get younger players like KeSean Carter and Ta’Zhawn Henry more playing time.
