Only Ta’Zhawn Henry days until Tech Football

The freshman running back looking to potentially make his mark at running back and on special teams.

Only 26 days until the Red Raiders take the field for another season of football. Today, we will be talking about our number 26, Ta’Zhawn Henry. Henry is a freshman running back for the Red Raiders. His journey to Lubbock is a unusual one, originally committing to TCU before choosing Tech. I, for one am glad he found his way to Lubbock.

Henry was a three-star recruit and was a beast at Lamar High School in Houston, Texas. He rushed for 3,300 yards and 42 touchdowns in his three years at Lamar. He originally chose TCU over a host a schools including Tech, Baylor, Kansas State, and Houston. He de-committed and took a visit to both Texas Tech and Oregon State. He chose Texas Tech just days before National Signing Day. He made tons of highlight plays including hurdling over two defenders in his sophomore year.

Henry displays incredible speed and pass catching ability out of the backfield. He will be able to progress into an all-around back soon as he looks to even get some touches as early as this season for the Red Raiders. The starting job appears to be Da’Leon Ward’s to lose, but look out for this amazing freshman to earn reps and touches on special teams and on third down for the Red Raiders this season.
