Red Raider Ravioli: stay respectable on the field

Football is almost here, so it’s time for expectations.

The season has begun!

Ok, some of you could argue that Duquesne-UMass and Prairie View-Rice don’t mean football like we intend it, but at least there’s once again a green (or blue, or gray) 100-yard field on which hopes, dreams, and passions of millions of fans will live at least until December.

And of course, we are among these fans! This is the last Red Raider Ravioli before the season starts for Texas Tech, and we’ll find ourselves in seven days debating the first game (and hopefully the first win) of the season against Ole Miss.

I’m a big fan of video games, and there’s one I play every year, out of the Park Baseball. At the beginning of every season, the team owner gives his expectations, and there’s one that always hits me: “Stay respectable on the field”.

It’s something I feel right also for the Red Raiders, at the dawn of this year. We can discuss how many games the team will win, about who the starting quarterback will be, or if the defense will have the season we all wait for.

But in the end, we want a team that fights on every ball, that gives everything it has, and that has nothing to complain about after every game. And if the opponents will be better and will win the game, there will always be another game to be played.

The season is here, folks! Let’s live it with passion, with dedication and also a bit of craziness.

Guns up!

Alla prossima!
