Johnson has had a very successful career at Texas Tech. He has racked up 264 tackles, 19 pass deflections, 5 interceptions, 6 forced fumbles, and 5 fumble recoveries. He has been one of the mainstays for this defense, and has helped Defensive Coordinator David Gibbs by being one of the best players on his defense while adapting to the new defense Gibbs put in place in 2015.

Johnson is no doubt a great player and one of the best players on this defense. I know all fans of the team are looking forward to Johnson having one last great season in Lubbock. He is a true ballhawk that will be looking for more great plays this season.
