We are 87 days away from Texas Tech football, folks. And 87 is the number incoming freshman Sterling Galban will be wearing when he laces up his cleats for the first time in a Texas Tech uniform.
The 5’11 wide receiver is considered one of the fastest skill position players in the state. He tallied 942 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior. He chose Texas Tech over TCU, Illinois, Iowa State, New Mexico and others.
Some fans are throwing around Wes Welker comparisons, but he’s got a different build than the former Denver Bronco and New England Patriot. His ceiling is probably somewhere around the Keke Coutee range.
He enrolled early at the university but I’m not sure if he’s going to redshirt or not. At the very least, Kliff Kingsbury has had extra time to evaluate whether or not the Burnet product is ready to play at the Big 12 level.
They gonna feel me.
