Texas Tech baseball is headed to the Super Regionals

Red Raiders defeat Louisville Sunday night in Lubbock

The Texas Tech Red Raiders are headed to the Super Regionals for the third time in school history.

Starting pitcher for the Red Raiders was Davis Martin. In five innings he allowed five hits, two runs, one walk, and one strike. Jose Quezada took over for Martin in the sixth inning. He allowed three hits, one run, and one error. Caleb Freeman entered to pitch in the eighth. He allowed four hits, three runs, and three errors. Ty Harpenau finished the game for the Red Raiders only allowing one hit in the ninth inning.

Red Raiders started the game with Gabe Holt’s run after an RBI single to right center. He would later score his second run of the evening on a fielder’s choice. Zach Rheams hit a three RBI home run over right field from Zach Rheams which also scored Jung and Brian Klein. Cody Farhat scored a home run in the second inning with a solo shot over the Tech bullpen. Rheams opened the fifth with a stand-up double down left field. An error on a hit by Davis puts him & Rheams in scoring position. This was quickly followed by a sacrifice fly to left field from Farhat to score Rheams.

Holt began the sixth inning with a double down the right field line. It was followed by Jung with an RBI groundout to third, scoring Holt. Rheams then scored Klein with an RBI single to center field. In the ninth, Cody Farhat singled through the left side scoring Warren.
